Wiston Steam Rally 11th/12th July 2015
I went over to the rally site on the Sunday before to see how the layout would be for the following weekend. I then went to the site on the Tuesday and Wednesday to set up the stationary engine section, after a bit of rearranging it was sorted.
The site they wanted us was not ideal as it was to much on a slope and the camping site was close by but again not level. I then took my caravan on Thursday and set up, other exhibitors in our section turned up and the show gradually came together. The rest of the show itself was very good, a lot of steam engines came and some travelled a long distance to be there, a good display of tractors, cars, motorcycles, and commercials.
The trade area was good and a very good number of public turned up. Weather was OK Saturday but we had some rain on Sunday which curtailed activities. As I said earlier that the site was not ideal, so hopefully next year we will be over the other side of the field as I have already spoken to Ian the organiser about and he agreed, so we will see.
