Bluebell Vintage Weekend 9/10th August 2014
This show has been run for a lot of years and I have been going on and off since the the 70’s. In the early days we were in the railway yard at Sheffield Park, then we moved to the station approach at Sheffield Park, we used to get as many as 25/30 engines. After many years we had to move to Horsted Keynes which is a much better site as we are on the platform at the station.
This year Saturday was a good day with 7 exhibits and there was a lot of vehicles in the field from classic car’s, motor cycles, a few tractor’s and commercial vehicles. There was a good number of steam engines, the railway ran steam trains every hour and a good number of spectators with a lot looking at the engines. Sunday was a bit different with rain and wind most of the morning, not all of the time but this cleared around lunchtime and then just a few showers, not that many exhibits in the field and not a lot of public but we had a good time, so hopefully back next year.
