Rudgwick Steam & Country Show Report 2013
This show has always been one of my favourite ones having had our own club pen that’s in a good position, for many years. I start on the site about a week before with the help of Dave by going up and putting the posts in and sorting out the rope for our pen, also marking out camping spaces.
I arrived on site thursday morning and set up by afternoon. Other members had arrived and by friday evening everybody was in place. The show always has a good crowd of public although Saturday had some rain which did affect the public a bit. The whole show was very good with a lot of other exhibits of all sections, one or two trade spaces empty but a lot more Autojumble stalls this year. The evening tour around the arena after dark by as many vehicles with lights on and sets of fairy type lights, all sorts of vehicles from steamers, lorries, cars, tractors, lawnmowers, motorcycles and others, takes about 2 hours for all to get in and out of the arena. An extra event on the saturday was one of the Red Arrows flew over the site as they were flying at the Dunsfold Air Show which is the same time as Rudgwick.
A very enjoyable show.
