Dene Rally held at Monkwood, Hampshire

I entered this show after getting one of there flyers in a newsletter. I looked it up on the internet and it had good reports for their last two shows.

I arrived on site on Friday morning to be met by Tony Haydon, who had been asked to look after the engine section. It did not take long to set up the caravan and unload the engines, the rest of Friday was a very slow set up.

I had a good look around the site and sat down to wait and see the other exhibitors come in. Saturday the engine line up grew as people came and the show took off and it was a good two days.

A lot of cars arrived for the show and it was nice to see the unusual ones like Lanchester and Lea Francis, also a couple of early Bond three wheelers, a nice line up of motorcycles and a good number of steam. There were about a dozen stalls in the lower field selling all sorts of items and it was a very good small type show with about two hundred exhibits.

The weather was good and I shall go again next year.
