NEW… Coultershaw Heritage Site Visit and Gas Up Sunday 19th April 2020
By Mark Tewkesbury
Our April club night has in the last few years been replaced with a visit to a place of interest. A planned visit to Coultershaw had been penciled in for last year, but it WILL happen this year, so please come along and support it. Thanks to owners Barry Flannaghan and family, we also have a visit to see the nearby restored Burton Watermill. The date is Sunday 19th April, meet at Coultershaw, A285 South of Petworth, 2pm (look for the brown tourist signs) for a full afternoon of interest. Please contact me if you intend to visit so we have an idea of numbers. Thank you.
Hot on its heels and to fill in the gap left by Amberley, we have been invited to stage a gas up at Coultershaw. We have space for approx 20 engines and machinery. As this is a ‘new’ event for us, and the site is linked to Water and Milling it would be nice to see a few representative displays, along with other diverse uses for engines and make this a bit special, so please think of adding related items, a good information board and anything else you can think of that will enhance your display. Please note that cars etc. will be parked separate from the engines so as to make maximum use of the display area around the old buildings.
