Luffs Nurseries

This was a new event to me. Organised by Tony Haydon, it is held at Luffs Nurseries between Headley and Bordon. Allan and I attended with his Wolseley and pump and my Hartop.  There were about 15 engines on show, which was quite a good line up for an Autumn show. The Nurseries were holding a Pumpkin extravaganza with food tasting and other activities. Tractor driving was proving quite popular.

Amongst the usual line of Listers, Wolseleys, Amancos and Bamfords, an engine that stood out was Graham Barnett’s CL Conord pump set. Graham had this set up to perfection with the engine slowed down and the centrifugal pump giving enough load to make it four stroke perfectly. Tony Kuhn’s Stuart P4 was another that putted away merrily all day with its alternator providing lights for the visitors to look at.

A good outing with friends and even the weather behaved.
