SEAMS New Year Gas Up: Faygate Hall

The SEAMS New Year gas up this year was held at Faygate village hall whereas in previous years we have been fortunate to hold this at Hurst Farm. It was held on Sunday the 3rd January and as so often, the British weather was unpredictable.

We had rain and wind but I am pleased to say, and it is very much appreciated, that we had a few that were able to bring their engines along.

These ran on the hard ground just in front of the entrance of the hall with one, a Tom Senior Superior   running in the back of the owners van. With the rain not letting up these guys put on a good show. We were all able to reflect on previous rallies, the ones where the weather was a lot better, and look forward  to those to come this year.

The day had an excellent attendance,  all nice and cosy in the hall, which created a good atmosphere. We were able to hold our usual raffle and we are always very appreciative to those that purchase tickets and bring along prizes as this contributes to the hire of the hall.

Most of all we must give our thanks to the lovely Ladies that kept the whole group supplied with tea, coffee, hot soup and a selection of bacon or sausage rolls. You know who you are ladies but I feel as you did such a sterling job I want to name you. So a big thanks to Heather, Carol, Marilyn and Maureen for all your hard work, it was very much appreciated by all and it made the day.

I wish you all a good 2016 season
